Bandit Dyno Pros/ConsPro's 1.) The most economical way to check your shocks force -vs- velocity curve! f(V) Do you know your shocks forces at 3,4,5,+ velocities?? Are all your 5 coded shocks the same??? You will probably be surprised when you check them!
Con's 1.) Will not perform a sinusoidal curve. This requires a scotch yoke system driven from a powerful electric motor and high dollar software to run. This is what drives the cost of crank dyno's to be so high. The lowest cost I have seen is $8000.00 for a 2HP unit, which is their most economical model. You would probably want a 5HP model that would generate the forces you want to test. I believe these are $12,000.00 plus! If your team can afford it, buy it! There is no better way, unless you want to spend $70,000.00 to $80,000.00! Again, the latter holds true.
